Monthend Randomness Aug2016

To all Malaysians, Selamat Hari Merdeka! It’s our National Day today, so I have a feeling many will be sleeping in. LOL! People from all over the country love to come to my city during the holidays too, so I’ll be avoiding all the famous murals and eateries. I think it’s best to just stay home. Now that it’s going to be September, time will fly just a little bit faster. Some really ambitious businesses might be selling Christmas stuff already!

Chloe and Ashlyn are growing up so fast, I feel a little melancholy. Ashton is getting more active and more daring in his jumps so I’m never able to sit down and rest. I have to make sure he doesn’t hurt himself! I surprise myself I still have the energy to schedule a few posts late at night. Trust me, I’m THIS tempted to give it all up. Many times!Β Another reason is also because I find myself streamlining my makeup and skincare without even realizing it. I’m getting more and more reckless in giving away my makeup when I used to be very reluctant and possessive. Because of blogging, I now have a very good understanding of my own skin so I know what works and what doesn’t. If I stopped blogging and didn’t have to test anymore new products, I’d only stick to a few.Β That said, these are a few products that I used up. I’m still continuing to clear out my cupboard (by using all the products of course) which is looking quite neat and tidy right now.

empties Aug2016

August, for me, is a good month. I got to celebrate my birthday with family and friends instead of being sick like last year, and I saw a lot of progress in my workouts at the gym. When I don’t feel good enough to workout, I like to drink a cup of coffee an hour before hitting the gym. And every time, I swear I have coffee pee. It’s so weird to be peeing and thinking “mmm, smells like coffee”. WTFLOL! Also, talking about bodily functions, my children love this music video! We laughed so hard the first time we saw it. This is a much longer versionΒ (different but similar) which we also enjoy. HAHAHA! Yes, we’re a silly bunch πŸ™‚

How was your August?

Um, so I added that Pororo potty song to the Jeddie playlist, haha. He’s potty-trained now but doesn’t like washing hands.

ALSO HOW DID I MISS YOUR BIRTHDAY??? HOPE IT WAS AWESOME!

    • Lily

My birthday was good πŸ™‚ I don’t want to think about potty training Ashton just yet. Gives me nightmares. LOL!

  • Happy belated birthday and National Day! Although my extended family are all in Malaysia, I had no idea it was National Day today (oops)! Your description of your town makes me think you’re from an island that started with a P but maybe I’m totally off base πŸ™‚

I have no idea what it’s like to have a child, nevermind three, but I imagine it’s CRAZY busy all the time. Props to you for keeping up with blogging!

    • Lily

Thank you Kar Yi! Penang is close. I’m between KL and Penang, a city known for its food and caves, and lately, hip cafes and murals. I don’t know how long I can keep up with blogging, but I know that some day, I will give it up πŸ™‚

      • Oh, is it Ipoh? I know they are famous for their chicken noodles πŸ™‚

Hopefully you will still have time for social media! I think if all the bloggers I enjoy chatting with stopped blogging or disappeared from Twitter/Insta it would be a lot less fun πŸ™

        • Lily

Yes, Ipoh. Famous for chicken noodles, tau fu fah, soy milk, baked salted chicken, lots of amazing food! If you ever come to Malaysia for a visit, or if you’re coming to visit your relatives, do stop by. You won’t regret it!

          • I’ve been to Ipoh twice actually! We have a lot of family friends who live there so we usually stay over a few nights. I remember really liking the tau fu fah there and we usually buy a few boxes of mung bean (?) biscuits πŸ™‚

            • Lily

Ah good to know you’ve been here before! Well, the next time you’re here, give me a holler πŸ™‚

  • Enjoyed reading this. Happy belated birthday!

    • Lily

      Thank you Rae πŸ™‚

  • Selamat Hari Merdeka!
I also wonder how you find the time with 3 kids, but I guess it kind of forces you to have a teeny bit more of “me time”. Hey I’m using that Caudalie moisturizer too, its the sorbet one right?
Hahaha I also like to drink coffee before a work out (in my recent cases, before a jog) which I also think gives coffee pee! πŸ˜›

    • Lily

Thanks Sofia. Yes, it’s the sorbet one! So easy to apply and I love its weightlessness.
Coffee pee weirds me out. But come to think of it, coffee pee is so much better than durian pee!! Or petai pee! OMG so smelly!!!!!

      • hahaha! I dont know petai but durain pee, omg!

        • Lily

Petai is usually cooked with belacan. It’s also called bitter bean but it’s not bitter at all. That pee STINKS!

  • I think once you stop, it’s hard to get back into the swing of things. Even just taking a few days away last week had made me a little unmotivated. But the mountain keeps piling…. so i’ve got to keep on with it! Happy belated birthday Lily!!! Love laughing with the lil ones!

    • Lily

LOL I control my blog work load by rejecting lots of samples. HAHAHAHA! Maybe I should put up a disclaimer on my blog – not so PR friendly anymore. HAHAHAHA!

  • The two weeks off that I recently took made me feel like it’s time to give up blogging. It felt so refreshing and free to not worry and rush for everything blog related and to be able to give 100% to my family. I guess I’ll just have to wait and see how it goes after this year.

    • Lily

Yeah, I can see myself stopping after my term with the host is up. That’s 2 years max. Ashton will be 4 by then, and at the moment, it would seem like the right time to call it quits. I’d be 40 then!
