Sunday Stash Shopping #73: Oldies

Except for the Dior Lip Glow in Lilac, the rest of the things I used for this look are from MAC and they are old stuff I bought. They are in one of my customized palettes, and I thought of taking them out for a spin. Truthfully, I’m also trying to decide whether to keep or to throw. It seems wasteful to throw it out, but it’s also difficult to give them to a friend, since they are depotted. Sigh. Anyway.

As you can see, I’m still using Chamomile as brow highlight. There’s an obvious dip in the pan and I’d like to hit pan one day. It’s a very easy shade to use, even though it’s not as creamy as I like. It’s quite powdery, but oh well, it’s just a subtle matte brow highlight. How fussy can I be? I used Satin Taupe on my lids, and Modelette to soften the edges. And always, I use the lid shade on my lower lash line too. I use a small smudge brush to get as close to the lash line as possible so that it doesn’t look too smokey. This balances out my eyes. This step is optional, depending on your eye shape. If you’re blessed with bigger eyes, and more lashes, then you can skip this altogether. I find that this is a step I can’t miss, or my eyes will look top heavy. For this look, I tightlined my eyes with Hourglass 1.5mm mechanical gel liner and finished off with Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir mascara.

Since Satin Taupe gives my eyes a purple-ish hue, I opted for pink cheeks and cool lips. Well Dressed is a light baby pink that doesn’t clash too much on my skin tone.

Simple look, but they go quite well together, don’t they? And on my brows, I think I used Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in medium brown. I can’t remember. I’m rotating a few at the moment. Hope you liked today’s simple look!

Ooh you looks beautiful! Satin taupe looks super bitchin’ on you. That one’s always an easy fave for me. It just goes with anything.

Thank you Kristen! Miss seeing you here but glad I can still see what you’re up to on Snapchat. Totally not a stalker at all 🙂

Love those eye shadows on you–the blending is so soft and pretty!

      Thank you!

  • Satin Taupe is so purple on you! I need to pull mine out of shadow oblivion some day haha! Well Dressed is a blush rom MAC i never understood…I think I had a bum one as it never did anything for me! Looks great on you though!
It’s funny…I often thing about how we graduate through makeup…starting with MAC….and then kind of giving it up! WEIRD!

I know. Satin Taupe doesn’t look taupe on me. LOL! These MAC stuff I have are quite old. Debating whether to bin them 🙂

  • I do adore your makeup looks, Lily, they are always natural and just enhances your natural beauty instead of the usual highlighting every area possible with concealer type that I am seeing all over YouTube and Instagram. I too need to dig out my older stuff to give them a whirl again, too often I get distracted by new products and the older ones are left abandoned.

Thank you so much Shireen. I can never do those Instagram makeup. Highlight, bake, whatever it is they do, and perfectly shaped eye brows just don’t work for me. I’m always distracted by new products too! And that’s the main reason I started this stash shopping series – so that I can dig up old stuff and use them.

  • Again, you always pick the best lip colors! 🙂 And I totally agree with what Shireen said below me.

Thanks Melissa. I just don’t like heavy makeup 🙂

  • I love the look on you, so soft and sweet!
