With a name like Edible Beauty, you’d have guessed that they use ingredients good enough to eat. They use non toxic herbs, teas and plants, and stay away from unnecessary chemicals. This brand is also vegan and cruelty free. I was curious at one point – should I taste it? Erm, I chickened out. If they claim it’s good enough to eat, then so be it. It would be difficult for me to count the calories. HAHAHAHA! I was sent deluxe sample sizes of the cleanser, toner, serum and moisturizer. They are all labeled by numbers, and I think it’s handy for those who don’t know which to use first. It’s simplified skincare and you don’t even need to read the names of the product before you use.
All 4 of these products do not have synthetic fragrances. The Belle Frais Cleansing Milk is lovely. I think it’s good for all skin types because it is neither drying nor is it rich even though it is made of coconut oil and contains essential oils. It washes off easily and skin does not feel taut. It says to remove makeup, but I used this as my second cleanse. I prefer makeup removers to remove makeup.
The oil free Citrus Rhapsody Toner Mist is more suited for those with normal to oily skin. I don’t think it’s enough for those with dry skin. It’s supposed to be great for those with enlarged pores but I didn’t see any changes in the 2 weeks I used this. However, the smell is something to get used to. My husband thought it smelled like sweat (hah!) but I thought it was OK. I didn’t like it, but it didn’t turn me off completely either. I believe I’m not too fussy with scents unless it is very strong. So if you are sensitive to scents and smells, then DON’T trust me when I say it’s not offensive. LOL! These 2 products are very easy to use, and I’ve already emptied both of them.
The Exotic Goddess Ageless Serum contains Hyaluronic Acid to boost hydration, Davidson Plum and Edelweiss to plump the skin and reduce fine lines. It absorbs into the skin rather quickly and in the few weeks I used this, my skin maintained its hydration level. I do not have any lines on my face as yet, so I can’t tell you it reduces the fine lines.
The Vanilla Silk Hydrating Lotion is a cream moisturizer that feels a little heavy on my skin. It is not rich and oily per se, but it does sit on the skin for a while. I feel like I need to massage my face longer to get all the product absorbed. I’m not partial to the scent either. Smells like spiced vanilla which is weird to my nose.
It’s definitely something interesting to try, and while they are nice, they didn’t impress me enough to warrant a purchase. However, if I had to choose, I’d probably buy the full size of the toner mist. Yes, even though my husband says it smells like sweat. Edible Beauty is available for purchase at Sephora online, and you can also get the full ingredients list there if you’re interested. If any of you have actually tasted/eaten this before, please drop me a line to tell me if they were yummy 🙂
