Dior Spring Look 2017: Color Gradation Lips

I initially thought I’d show you the entire collection with arm swatches, since these are already in stores, but the lipsticks are so pretty, I wanted to show you how they look on me as well! I didn’t want the post to be picture heavy as it’ll take too long to load, so I’m splitting it to 2 parts. Today, it’s all about the lips. All the lip products retail for RM125, and here, I’ll show you the Dior Addict in Fuchsia Twist 760, Rouge Brillant in Versatile 568 and Rouge Gradient in Purple 975.

Let’s start with arm swatches.

Dior Addict Fuchsia Twist is a bright pink that looks good even on warmer skin tones. I love its translucent shiny finish because while the colour is bright, it is very wearable. Rouge Brillant Versatile is a more pigmented gloss and the trade off is a stickier texture. It is not sticky compared to many other glosses, but it definitely is when compared to Dior Addict Ultra-Gloss. Versatile is a bright coral, and I like to wear it toned down. I’d dab it on my lips and then smooth it out with my finger. In the photos below, Fuchsia Twist and Versatile look similar, but that’s very likely due to the light and the fact that I sheered out Versatile. As you can see in the swatch above, Versatile is markedly warmer.

Now comes the interesting one. The Dior Rouge Gradient Lip Shadow Duo is actually a dual ended lip powder. You get a light and a dark shade, and it is supposed to make it easy to create a gradient look (ombre). It gives a powdery matte finish, and if you have chapped or cracked lips, this is not for you. You’ll need to prep your lips properly before using this, but oh, I so love the finish! 975 Purple has pink on one side and purple (I’d say dark berry) on the other side. I tried applying it in different ways, and the best way for me is to pat this on then smooth out the edges with my finger. The applicator is soft sponge, and one might wonder how hygienic it is, but I don’t share my lip products so I really don’t worry about it. Just wipe your mouth clean before applying, but isn’t it the same with any other lip products?

Here are a few ways of wearing the Rouge Gradient. Light only, dark only, or ombre. I really don’t wear ombre well. I can’t seem to blend it properly, and I don’t know if it’s the powder, or if it’s my skills. LOL! Either way, I LOVE THE PURPLE! Pink is meh, a little boring, but the purple is sexy! I might be a little biased because I love my dark vampy lipsticks, but this one is gorgeous. It is completely matte, and it doesn’t budge. It leaves quite a strong stain as well, which is great. No need to reapply all the time.

What do you think? Aren’t you curious about the lip powder? Definitely worth a look!
