Sunday Stash Shopping #78

It’s been a while since I used my Lorac Pro palette. I remember all the raves online, and I hunted it down, paid premium for it. And after a few uses, I went on to newer shinier things. I’m glad I stuck to this stash shopping series, because it reminds me of the gems hidden in my drawer. And darn, time really flies. It’s been 3 years since I wrote about this palette!

On my lids, I used Garnet, a warm reddish bronze. I darkened the lash line and outer corners using Espresso, a matte dark brown and softened the edges using Taupe. I initially used a pink lipstick, but it just wasn’t what I had in mind. After playing around, I settled for No7 Perfect Lips Pencil in 20 Nude all over my lips, and Dior Lilac Glow on top. It’s the perfect nude lip for me. Not too beige, not too pink. For blush, I used Canmake Cream Cheeks in CL02.

For foundation, I’ve been using By Terry CC Cream in 01 Nude as base, and brighten with Bobbi Brown Foundation Stick in Warm Ivory. I bought the CC Cream a while ago but didn’t enjoy it. It’s really sheer but lately, I find that it evens out my skin tone just enough for a light dusting of powder. When I want more coverage, I use the foundation stick which I only apply at the centre of my face where I have the most redness. Then, I finish off with a dust of IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores pressed powder. I’ve been enjoying this base combination a lot lately. It’s light and makes my skin look naturally good. The powder DOES minimize the appearance of pores which is amazing. Definitely recommend it. I bought it during Sephora sale, so it was 20% off. The Bobbi Brown stick foundation is a relatively new purchase, and it IS cult for a reason, my friends. I don’t know why it took me so long to buy it.

Are you having a good weekend? Hope it’s a relaxing one before the week starts all over again on Monday. Cheers!

xoxo Lily

  • Love how this look turned out! I wasn’t drawn the the Lorac Pro palettes at all for a few years but then there was a 35% off sale if you bought 1 and 2… so all of a sudden I felt compelled to purchase it *shades head* I definitely need to try this eyeshadow combo out now! The lip color also looks very nice!

Hey Kar Yi, I think I was drawn to the Lorac Pro because of this Garnet shade. The same reason I’m drawn to the ABH Renaissance palette – the reds. I’m resisting that one so hard because I have a feeling it’ll be the same old story. Buy, use a few times, abandon. LOL!

  • Hi Lily! Missed your SSS. I love that this look is kind of nude but doesn’t wash you out. I should try wear warmer eyeshadows more often. It looks great on you!

Hope you’re enjoying your weekend. It is snowing a lot in NYC.

Hey Lena. I need to post my SSS more regularly. It’s easier to write than reviews. HAHAHA! I didn’t like such warm shades initially, but the past couple of years changed. Gimme all the warms!
We’re having a slow Sunday here. TV and ordering pizza in. I put on makeup just to take some photos (for next week probably) and my husband laughed at me. My wife applies makeup on weekends just to take photos and wash off. LOL!

  • Oooo! Is the BB stick foundation really as good as how everyone made it out to be? I’ll need to give it a try then! And like Lena said, I too miss your SSS posts so definitely love seeing this post from you, Lily.

    • Lily

Yup, I’ll talk more about the foundation stick soon. I took some photos, just need to edit them. I’m gonna do more SSS posts because it gives me a chance to talk about random things. LOL! Also, I just want to say, I love your Instastories because you’re so animated 😀

  • Lily

Thanks Laura. I usually do my eyes like this because I find it complements my eye shape the most. Hope you had a beautiful week!

  • I LOVE that nude lip combo! It looks great! I never think about a pencil + balm for that kind of look, but it’s great!

    • Lily

Oh Larie, the lip pencil has the perfect colour but it’s dry, since well, it’s a lip liner. So, I top it with a pinkish balm, and voila! Best of both worlds.
