Recent Bobbi Brown Mini Haul

I don’t usually write about ‘hauls’. The word bugs me for some reason, but since many people use it, what the heck, if you can’t beat them, join them πŸ™‚ I purchased 2 little goodies from Bobbi Brown recently. Firstly, I have to say I was sucked in by the white packaging instead of the usual black. Secondly, well, the 2 things I picked are pretty good. That’s the main reason I am sharing! I love them, and they are limited edition. Hence, this rushed post.

I bought the Extra Lip Tint in Bare Melon (RM113) and the Cheek Glow Palette (RM206) in Pearl/Pink Flush. I picked Bare Melon sight unseen, and I chose the Pink Flush Cheek Glow Palette because based on online swatches, it looks like something I don’t have. The Extra Lip Tint in Bare Melon is actually quite a bright coral. It is very moisturizing (it’s a tinted lip balm anyway) without being thick and sticky and it stays that way for quite some time. On my lips, it sometimes looks coral, sometimes more pink and sometimes even peachy.

The Cheek Glow Palette consists of a cream glow highlighter (Pearl) and a pot rouge (Pink Flush). I chose this in particular because of the highlighter. Pearl looks just like its namesake. On the skin, it looks very subtle and glowy but never oily or greasy. Pot Rouge is one of my favourite cream blushes so I know I won’t be disappointed. Pink Flush is a warm light pink which has more yellow than blue. That’s also the reason I love it. Most pinks look cool on me but this has just the right warmth against my skin tone and it looks very natural. Because the shade is quite light, it gives a youthful flush on the cheeks. After applying the pot rouge, I’d pat Pearl on the highest point of my cheeks for the slight bounce of light.

Here are the swatches onΒ my bare arm. I don’t have the time to take a proper photo of me using the products just yet, but as usual, I will post it in the near future. The swatches below are done heavily so that they can be captured properly.

Let me tell you that I have been quite selective in makeup that I buy but I’m very happy with these. I know these were launched elsewhere last year, but in Malaysia, we just got them and they are selling out fast. Have you tried any? I haven’t been so excited about a purchase to warrant an emergency post, but I’m in love! Go have a look if you can.

xoxo Lily

Where do you order your Bobbi brown from? I love her stuff but it’s not available in ipoh.

    • Lily

I know! It’s so sad that we don’t have Bobbi Brown here. I have friends in KL who will purchase it for me. But I heard a rumour that they’ll be selling online soon. Let’s hope it’ll be SOON!

  • This is the lip tint you were telling me about the other day? Looks like the type of no fuss moisturising shiny tiny bit of colour that I love πŸ™‚

    • Lily

Yes this is it πŸ™‚ It’s actually more pigmented than the swatch when applied on the lips. I’ve been using it so much lately!

  • Oh what a good idea-love that duo! And love that lip balm. I’m not fast easy makeup like this lately too.

    • Lily

The duo is lovely! The highlighter is so subtle it’s hard to be a disco ball, and that’s just the way I like it πŸ™‚

  • The white instead of the usual black packaging does make these way more attractive. I am being a very good girl here and am willing myself to NOT be tempted by how beautiful your swatches are but it’s hardddd! Haha!

    • Lily

Hahaha I wanted to resist too, but Bobbi Brown and white packaging? Couldn’t resist!

  • Liz

These look fun and uplifting! Dare I say it’s time for Bobbi Brown to refresh their branding somewhat??? I like their stuff still. If I ever have it in me to spend extra on makeup again, I’d probably do it at BB.

I do wonder where the brand will go from here. I suppose we’ll see in the future where the brand will be without its creator πŸ™‚
