Sunday Stash Shopping #82: Simple and Uplifting

I didn’t know what to name this look, but that’s what this look does. It is simple, and it brightens the face almost immediately. I didn’t mean to blog about this, mainly because I didn’t take the photos using my good camera. I thought the look turned out nice, and on a whim, I took some photos using my phone. Also, instead of the usual natural light, I actually took them in front of my vanity, using the fluorescent light. Not the most flattering, mind you, and it wasn’t as bright, hence the weird shadows and blurred out features as well. And that, my friends, is why I’d never blog using my phone. LOL!

I was actually sitting at home the whole day, and suddenly I had to get ready in 15 minutes to go out for a dinner. I barely had enough time to change (just pulled on a pair of jeans) let alone prepping my face properly. So, I misted my face using this Pixi Hydrating Milky Mist before applying Bobbi Brown Illuminating Face Base. This base makes my face less dry but not oily either. It does eliminate some dullness from my skin and it’s enough as a pick me up without foundation. I quickly applied some Bobbi Brown Intensive Skin Serum Concealer under my eyes and blended out some of the YSL Baby Doll Kiss and Blush lip and cheek tint on my cheeks. This is in shade 04 Orange Fougueux. It applies beautifully and the bright orange gives my complexion an instant boost in radiance! I finished off this look with Shiseido Perfect Rouge in Sublime. Not pictured here are mascara and brow pencil. As usual, my go to is Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir mascara and Shu Uemura H9 brow pencil in Stone Grey. Here’s how they all look on me.

I stretched my 15 minutes to the max before running out the door. The mister was already waiting in the car counting the seconds. What pressure!!

What is your super quick go to look?

xoxo Lily

  • How the hell you managed to look so healthy and radiant within 15 minutes?! I take 10 minutes just on my eyebrows alone. Haha! Love the look, Lily, very fresh face and I swear you look younger each time…no ass kissing but you could easily pass as a 30 year old. I’m envious!

    • Lily

Hahaha when it comes to my face, I can draw my brows in one minute. It’s easier when I use the sword shaped brow pencil. Gets the job done faster. And thank you so much! I met up with someone from Chanel and she said the same thing. I really think it’s the good skincare. Makes us look younger 🙂

  • I think your iPhone pic is great! You look lovely and radiant! I’m going to have to check out that BB Face Base now!

    • Lily

LOL well, it’s Samsung. I guess that’s one of the perks when pictures are slightly blurry! And yes, you must check out the Illuminating face base! I love that stuff. When I’m done with this, I’ll try the Extra Illuminating face base which is more suitable for drier skin.

You look glowing and radiant! Love that you finished up just in time as Mister Chloeash (his official name) pulled up in the car! My go-to quick look is the NARS PRTM, fill in the brows, mascara, a grapefruit pink blush and a swipe of pink lipgloss. This look only works when my acne isn’t off the cheese charts! Happy Sunday, my love! <3

Thank you Kristen! He has a bad habit of putting pressure on me by just waiting in the car. I should just leave him be for half an hour. Hahaha! Oh, grapefruit pink blush sounds yummy 🙂

  • ML Chan

I have to agree with the ladies – clearly, 15mins is all you need to look radiant. Gorgeous!

    • Lily

Ah thank you ML. I might have to add that it only works when I have good skin days. Hahaha!

  • Your base looks good! Very natural and real, but flawless still.

    • Lily

Yes! The face base I used isn’t tinted, so it’s all skin. Just covered some discoloration using concealer. I credit the luminosity to the Bobbi Brown Illuminating Face Base. I’m really happy with this purchase.

  • Yvonne Tay

ooooh. looks so fresh! you do look radiant.. You really found a winning combination to perk yourself up. (:

    • Lily

Thank you! I found that my skin works with bright orange / coral tones. I suppose I could use pink as well, but it has to be baby pink on the cheeks and pink berry on the lips 🙂

  • I think this look is really fresh and pretty. I really wish I could get away with that little makeup and still look as amazign as you do!

    • Lily

Aaw thank you Agata! I do pay attention on good skincare, and I try to drink as much water as I can. It seems to help 🙂

  • So pretty, I love that color blush and lippie on you, it does brighten up alot!

      Thank you Sofia!!
