Sunday Stash Shopping #87: Chanel Cruise

I’m gonna make this short and sweet. Have we all seen the swatches of the makeup I’m using today? If not, you can go to this post to read first. We’ll be using green mascara today! I haven’t worn green mascaras before. I don’t use coloured mascaras much because a lot of them just don’t show on my lashes. This one actually coats my lashes evenly and gives off a subtle green. Because I have short lashes, it looks like I wear green eye liner instead. UGH!

Here it is, me wearing a nude lip (Rouge Coco Shine Golden Sand)…

And here, I’m wearing Sepia. It’s so creamy and slippery but doesn’t bleed at all. Great if you have dry lips!

And for the base, I’m actually wearing the Chanel Le Blanc Whitening Compact Foundation Long Lasting Radiance – Thermal Comfort SPF25. It’s quite a name. I was tempted to just cut the name short and call it the Le Blanc powder foundation.

The shade I have is 20 Beige, and while it matches my face perfectly, it’s still a tad dark against my neck. For some strange reason, my face is darker and redder than my neck and chest. I usually wear a foundation one shade lighter to match so 10 Beige is my usual go to.Β This powder foundation gives a medium coverage, and it feels very light on the skin. I usually apply with a face brush to set my foundation. If I wear it on its own, I usually apply concealer under my eyes, then with a buffing brush, I’ll gently pat this foundation on. I’m used to patting on powder foundation instead of swirling it in. I find that with patting, the foundation sits better and provides more coverage. Then to set everything in place, I spritz my face with some face mist. I have normal to dry skin, and this foundation does not dry me out further. In fact, it helps cover some of my open pores, which I welcome any time!

Hope you liked today’s look. Did you get anything from the Chanel Cruise Collection? Do you wear coloured mascara? Powder foundation or liquid foundation?

xoxo Lily

  • Ooooo, new layout! Nice!

Glad you like it, Hari πŸ™‚

  • oooh brave you, I’ve never worn green mascara (and I guess I never will buy any nor will anyone give me one so I guess I never will!). I read you, my face is also a tad darker and pinker than my neck, so annoying when trying to match up foundations! xx

Isn’t it so difficult to find a foundation that makes you look uniform? It’s really frustrating πŸ™
My first time wearing green mascara too. It’s not that crazy after all. LOL!

  • I have never tried patting motion with a powder foundation before and I will give that a try next time and see if it makes a difference on my skin. And green mascara? You’re braver than me, I don’t think I dare to wear one. LOL!

Yes, patting on powders changed my makeup routine. They stay on longer, and gives fuller coverage. Also, minimizes the appearance of pores!

  • The Cruise collection didn’t really interest me (I usually skip summer collections), but you created some pretty & natural looks here. Love the Sepia color on you! πŸ˜€

Thanks Lena. That’s how I feel about Spring collections, because pastels are not my colours. I envy you because you pull off those pastels so well!

  • Hahaa I really thought you were wearing green liner!! I was surprised by how well these colored mascara show up on my lashes as well! Thanks for the tip on patting on powder with a brush… i’ll try that!

Short lashes make me look like I wear liner. FML *face palm*
I wish I had long lush lashes but oh well, we make do with what we have. And I’m too lazy to wear falsies. Hahaha!
Yes, do try patting on powders and let me know how it works for you!
